How gamepasses and dev products convert to revenue

Roblox gamepasses are one-time purchases per user — buy it once, keep it forever in that game. Developer products are consumables — usually currency packs, boosts, or one-shot revivals that can be bought repeatedly. Both flow through the same 30% marketplace fee before money lands in your account.

Revenue planning gets useful when you stop thinking in raw sale prices and start thinking in take per active player. A 99 Robux gamepass bought by 1 in 100 players is worth more total revenue than a 999 Robux pass bought by 1 in 5,000. This calculator lets you sketch different price-and-volume combinations quickly to see which feels right.

When to use it

  • Pricing a gamepass before launch.
  • Estimating monthly revenue from current sales to plan ad spend.
  • Sharing a "what would it take to hit $X / month" scenario with a co-developer.

Example

A 199 Robux gamepass at 10 sales / day over 30 days = 59,700 Robux gross. After the 30% fee, that's 41,790 Robux. At the DevEx rate, that's about $146. To clear $500 / month you'd need to roughly triple sales, raise the price, or both.

FAQ

Does this match the data Roblox shows in the Developer Hub?

Developer Hub revenue charts show post-fee Robux already. This calculator does the same math so the numbers should line up.

Why use DevEx for the USD column instead of purchase rate?

Because developer revenue is what gets cashed out. The DevEx rate is the rate that actually applies to that Robux.
