What is a Pump & Dump?
A pump and dump scheme is a form of market manipulation where:
- Pump: Manipulators artificially inflate the price of an item through coordinated buying, hype, or restricting supply
- Dump: Once the price is inflated, they sell their holdings at the peak, leaving other traders with overpriced items
